Charity and Community Support
For us, being a leading accountancy company and business advisory firm is about more than providing a great service and advice to our clients – it’s about being a responsible business.
We believe that all businesses must play their part in making a difference and investing time and resources in supporting local communities, charities, and organisations and ensuring we have a positive impact on the environment.
Our commitment to delivering on these is a fundamental part of our culture and DNA and fosters a deep sense of pride and belonging among our people. It’s about creating social value.
What is social value?
Social value encompasses the wider societal advantages created by actions, initiatives, and projects that positively impact our communities and our environment. It goes beyond mere financial profit or personal gain, focusing on collective well-being and sustainable development.
At Hayward Wright, our social value strategy focuses on three key areas:
Raising funds to support charitable organisations and community groups that help those in need
Supporting educational initiatives and those in the education sector to help students and pupils make the transition into the world of work
Ensuring we have a positive impact on the environment.
Chosen charity for the year
In addition to the above, each year, a member of our team is chosen randomly, and they can select our core charity for the year. Over the course of the year, our team then plans and delivers a range of activities to raise money for that organisation. This year, our chosen charity is Brake UK.
Brake UK is an incredible charity dedicated to preventing road deaths and injuries, and supporting those affected by road crashes. You can find out more here: www.brake.org.uk.
Their brilliant efforts make such a difference!
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is absolutely thrilled to receive an incredible £10,416.00 from Hayward Wright through their 2024 fundraising campaign. Their brilliant efforts will make such a huge difference to the Trust’s work in supporting the 11,500+ living with cystic fibrosis in the UK today. With the amazing funds raised from Hayward Wright, the Trust can fund 2 months of our Helpline services or pay for 26 days’ worth of essential laboratory materials at our Strategic Research Centres, helping scientists to develop groundbreaking new treatments for everyone with CF.

How we support local organisations and community groups
Many of our team members are involved in supporting local membership groups, including:
Worcester Ambassadors:
We are active members of Worcester Ambassadors, an organisation that was set up to promote Worcestershire as a great place to live, work, invest, visit, and do business.
Redditch Business Leaders:
We are part of Redditch Business Leaders, which was set up to help schools and colleges connect with local businesses that provide support, mentoring, training, knowledge transfer and skills development for pupils and students as they prepare for the workplace
Worcestershire Local Skills Improvement Plan:
As part of our commitment to supporting those in education and the wider community, our Director Chloe Blackwell is on the Worcestershire Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) board with the Hereford & Worcester Chamber of Commerce.
How we measure the impact we have
To track the impact of the community and charity support we do, our Social Value Committee (led by Practice Director Sam Paice) is responsible for overseeing what we deliver and measuring the impact. This group captures key data across all activities, and this is summarised in a quarterly report that our senior management reviews which includes:
Number of interactions and support we provide to pupils and students
Amount of time we invest in supporting charitable organisations and community groups
Money we raise through our various fundraising activities
