New Scheme Offers Financial Help and Practical Support to Budding Entrepreneurs

NEWS RELEASE

EMBARGO UNTIL NOON ON FRIDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER 2012
Date: 19th September 2012
Title: New Scheme Offers Financial Help and Practical Support to Budding Entrepreneurs

A unique initiative has been launched by Redditch Town Centre Partnership (RTCP) to attract independent shops and eateries into vacant premises in the old town area of Redditch around the Church Green, Alcester Street and Unicorn Hill.

Under the “Pitch Your Plan” scheme, hopeful entrepreneurs, potential shopkeepers and visionary restaurateurs will be able to present their business ideas and plans to a panel of business ‘Chiefs’ who will, in turn, assess the various proposals before recommending to RTCP who should be offered “Pitch Your Plan's” backing and support.

A huge amount of help will be available for those who put forward the best business cases, including help with rent, interior fit out, low rate business loans and free accountancy services, business mentoring and coaching.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with an ambition to open a own shop, café bistro or restaurant in Redditch Town Centre” said Lyndsey Hadley, Town Centre Co-Ordinator and Director of RTCP. “This is a key step in helping to revitalise the old town area and introduce a more varied offer for local people, workers and visitors to enjoy”.

The project is supported by Redditch Borough Council using monies from the High Street Innovation Grant awarded by the Government earlier this year.

The winning applicants will be announced at the beginning of November.
